What Has LandWatch San Luis Obispo County Accomplished?

WHAT HAS LANDWATCH ACCOMPLISHED?

  During the last two and a half years LandWatch has been busy.  Here’s a partial list of accomplishments and activities.
• Filed a lawsuit against the CCSD for violation of the California Environmental Quality Act in its ongoing quest for a desal plant and production of desal-related documents (see below for more).
• Put the brakes on desalination and protected San Simeon State Beach with a successful appeal to the Coastal Commission that stopped the CCSD from installing desalination test wells on the beach.
• Prevented the CCSD’s plan to put cell towers on the protected Fiscalini Ranch open space in a successful appeal to the Coastal Commission.
• Took a stand against the Main Street lights installed by the County
• Toured the water and wastewater plants with Brian Bode
• Responded to the Cambria Area Plan Update
• Submitted comments on the CCSD’s Fiscalini Ranch Draft Environmental Impact Report
• Submitted comments on the CCSD’s Water Master Plan Draft Environmental Impact Report
• Researched tax money received by the CSD from the County
• Joined organizations statewide to oppose the toll road through San Onofre State Park
